Persistent pulmonary air leak affects between 10-15% of surgical procedures, generally requiring management through the use conventional chest drainage systems (water-sealed pleural chamber) subjective interpretation due to poor detection sensitivity. leaks, resulting in increased morbidity, hospital stay, and costs.
